Do you wish there was a way to keep your child’s smile safe from dental problems? If so, our dentist, Dr. Lonnie Anderson, is happy to grant your wish! Today on our blog, he is happy to discuss the things you can do to keep your child’s teeth and gums free from tooth decay, gum disease, and enamel erosion. Those things are:

-Make sure your child stays on top of oral hygiene. This is important because brushing, flossing, and rinsing can clean the teeth and gums and remove plaque and bacteria from the smile. This helps prevent tooth decay and gum disease. If you use fluoride products, it can also help prevent enamel erosion.

-Make sure your child attends their dental cleaning appointments. These appointments are vital because they deeply clean the teeth and gums, remove the plaque and tartar from the smile, and strengthen and nourish the tooth enamel. These things can all help you prevent dental issues.

-Make sure your child doesn’t consume high amounts of sugary or acidic foods and drinks. This is recommended because sugar promotes cavities and acid promotes enamel erosion.
